Sourcing

Entries are built from a named printed reference and cite the page. Where the source quotes an earlier authority, that chain is shown too, so a claim traced back through Chaffers to Gillingwater's History of Lowestoft (1790) is presented as exactly that, and not as first-hand observation.

Corrections

If a transcription here misreports the source, it is a defect and will be fixed. Every entry carries the page number and the scan so you can check it yourself.

What is never published
